The renovation of the Dundas Museum and Archives is an adaptive reuse that creatively connects the site’s three buildings while honoring the historical integrity of the existing facility.

A barrier-free atrium and lobby were added during the renovation. Sustainability was a key initiative throughout this project which inspired the various textures and materials in the design, paying homage to the industrial heritage of Dundas. The renovation increased the available display space, visually linked visitors with the work of the archivists, and made room for new student camps, youth programs, and rental space. Even the new modern materials pay homage to the industrial heritage of Dundas.
