The construction of the new restaurant required the removal of two interior columns. The removal of the columns allowed for an open concept restaurant. The columns supported the upper two residen-tial floors and the roof. The existing heavy timber continuous beam was reinforced by laminating with pre engineered wood increasing the existing beam section modulus.
